Today, Albert King would have been 84. He was an amazing blues guitarist. You can see in the picture below that he plays a right-handed Gibson Flying V left-handed. But what you can't see is that he (unlike Jimi Hendrix, a fan of Albert King's) also played with the strings upside down. So his Low E was on the bottom. He was also a big influence of Stevie Ray Vaughan, another blues guitarist I absolutely love. Do yourself a favor and go find something by him--a CD, an mp3, an LP, whatever--and soak up that sweet sound. ![]() Happy Birthday Albert King. Play the blues for me. |
