Jericho @ 09:33 pm

I've been watching Jericho for free online. I'm really loving online TV lately. And Jericho falls in line with my attraction toward unresolved cancelled TV shows. But it's post-apocalyptic, so I couldn't help myself. But knowing all that the show went through with cancellation, the peanut petition, and then cancellation again, I find it somewhat odd that CBS places it under the TV Classics section on their website. "It's so classic, we cancelled it twice!"

It must be a classic, since CBS just awarded a place in their top five dramas of 2008.

CBS Paramount, Jericho's production company, still believes in the series and we are still hoping they will find a new home for Jericho.

Jericho is currently having an encore run, on Sunday night at the CW.

I'm not saying it's not a classic, I think it's odd that CBS considers a show they cancelled twice a classic. If they thought it was so classic, it would still be on.

But I really hope it finds a new home.

This is the only show since I first watched Star Trek: The Next Generation that's tempted me to write fanfic. I want to find out what happens after the second season's end . . .

Sounds like the cliffhanger is as bad as Deadwood. Three seasons of build up, and a new power figure comes in (none other than Mayor Green himself, Gerald McRaney), then they drop it. Grrr.

Fortunately it's not that bad. They did leave things open to take the series in a new direction in case it was picked up elsewhere, but otherwise the threads were tied.

They probably saw it coming and took the opportunity to wrap it up as best as they could knowing that any episode could be the last.

Yep. After the fuss people made about canceling season 1 on a cliffhanger, they knew they'd better wrap it up when they canceled a second time. If you watch the season 2 DVD you can see an alternate ending for the last episode which I'm guessing would've been used if the series had continued.
